Canopy Walkway Design, Fabrication, Calculation and Installation

We produce and install canopy systems for covered walkways to ensure dry sidewalks. We can create a tailored, prefabricated canopy to meet your specific needs.

Project Outline

The purpose of this project is to create a shelter for the walkway fromthe visitor centerbuilding to the yellow zone building in CGK 61 and from yellow zone building tothenext building in CGK 64. This shelter walkway is beneficial during rain and sunshine. It helpsto protect users as well as any equipment that needs to be carried over thedistancebetween the buildings.

Scope of Work

Note: Final Design and measurements may different from the initial proposal aswe may need to perform adjustments along the way to meet with the requirements onsite.

Our Proposal

As we have already installed the Canopy On CGK 60/63 as well as the calculator works that havebeenapproved, hence we will use the same Cantilever Canopy Post Design. By default the CanopyPost will have foundation work. However, for certain areas where it is a reinforced slab or the areas that wecouldnot install the foundation due to underground cable we will propose to use Hilti Chemical Anchor totheground on all the 4 M16 bolts instead. For the canopy post we will install the grounding wirebytappingto the existing grounding system and pull it to install to each Canopy Areas (except for Wall Mount).
There are a total of 100 Canopies to fabricate (99 Canopy Post + 1 Canopy Wall Mount).

Design of the based plate

Based plate is 40x40cm in size with 12mm thickness. It is black steel with hot dipped galvanized. It has 4 rib eye of 6mm thickness and 4 holes to that allows M16 bolts to fit in. We will use Hilti Chemical Anchors for base installation work if not foundation work is needed. The base plate is attached with the Canopy Post, welding on workshop.

Design of the Purlin

We will use C-Section CNP 100 with a thickness of 1.8mm. Purlin will be installed perpendicular to the rafter. There are 4 purlins installed on each rafter with spacing between purlins of approx 918mmapart. Installation of purlin to rafter we will use a 4mm L plate thickness for joint support with weldingtorafterand screw in to purlin with M10 bolts.

Design of the Canopy Post & Rafter

Canopy Post we will use a 4 inch black steel pipe with hot dipped galvanized.Diagonal support is using a thickness of 2 mm hollow with hot dipped galvanized. For the rafter we will use square hollow with 6mm square end plate thickness for connectionsbetweencircular pipes with square hollow to bolster the strength of the joint connection. Height of the Canopy Post is approx 3m. Length of Rafters is approx 2918mm with hollow dimension of 40x80x2mm Diagonal Support is using hollow with dimension of 40x40x2mm Angle of degree is 7.5 deg

Design of the Rooftop

We will use Twin Wall Corrugated Alderon 860 doff for the rooftop. We will use Weather Seal screws from Alderon. Installation of Alderon is perpendicular to purlin.

Canopy Materials used

  1. Roof top we will be using Alderon Twinwall 860 Series
Alderon Twinwall is single ply Premium uPVC roof, designed to meet a longer
term solution for roofs that demand high performance at a lower life cycle cost.
Reason for using Alderon:
1. Strong & Durable
2. UV Resistance
3. Fire Performance : Self Extinguishing
4. Fade Resistance
5. Excellent Chemical Resistance
6. Superior Impact Resistance
7. Sound & Heat Insulation
8. Low Maintenance cost
9. Environmental Friendly

Note: We will use Weather Seal Alderon Twin Wall Corrugated to secure the
Alderon against the metal support.

  1. Base Vertical Beam Support we will use Galvanized Steel 4 inch. Since we are
only using one Vertical Beam, we will need to ensure that there is a strong
support at the shorter end of the beam to make it equilibrium. Hence we will use
two diagonal supports that will connect from the base vertical beam to the left
and right of the horizontal beam above.
  2. Top Horizontal Beam Support we will use Galvanized Hollow Steel 2 inch.
